If you are homeless call Housing Transitions at:

If you are homeless youth under the age of 18 and/or have nowhere to go, call the Youth Service Bureau at: (814) 234-2100.

If you are fleeing a domestic violence household, call Centre Safe at:
(814) 234-5050.
They can provide free and confidential services, emergency housing, and assistance with housing searches.

If you are at risk of homeless or facing eviction, call the Centre County Office of Adult Services at:

Centre County Citizens
There are food pantries available throughout Centre County, with physical locations in State College, Bellefonte, Centre Hall, Beech Creek, Aaronsburg, Snow Shoe, and Philipsburg. Click here to view a list of food pantries compiled by the Centre County Government. 

Emergency food boxes filled with nonperishable items can be picked up at Centre County YMCA branches in Bellefonte, Philipsburg, Spring Mills, and State College, as well as Progress Grange in Centre Hall and St. Peter’s UCC in Rebersburg.

Penn State Students
Food is available to any Penn State student with a valid student ID through The Lions Pantry.

United Way
Contact the United Way State College for help with food.

Meal Delivery Services

State College Meals on Wheels
Meals on Wheels delivers meals to homebound people in the State College area who are elderly, chronically ill, convalescing, or have a serious mental illness. Apply for meals here. 

Centre County Office of Aging
Centre County delivers hot meals to homebound people outside of the State College school district. To receive in-home meals, call the Centre County Office of Aging at  (814) 355-6716. An intake form will be taken and a care manager will call to set up an appointment for a home visit.

YMCA Anti Hunger Programs
The YMCA of Centre County runs a handful of anti-hunger programs for community members in need. To learn about all of their programs, visit their website.

​Our mission is to  promote the healthy development of young people through high-quality implementation of CTC PLUS, Guiding Good Choices, and other preventive interventions. Visit here.

Once upon a time, when a Centre County youth got in trouble and ended up in court, a judge’s only option was to send the child far from home for help. Judge R. Paul Campbell and other dedicated volunteers founded the Youth Service Bureau in 1968 so young people could get help in our own community.

Since our incorporation in February 2012, Jana Marie Foundation has devoted its energy to opening minds and saving lives through educational programming and community mobilization to empower young people in the Centre County region.

student assistance program (sAP) (Youth)

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Student Assistance Program (SAP) is designed to assist school personnel in identifying issues including alcohol, tobacco, other drugs, and mental health issues which pose a barrier to a student’s success. The primary goal of the Student Assistance Program (SAP) is to help students overcome these barriers in order that they may achieve, remain in school, and advance.

PROGRAM (adult)

​The Community Support Program (CSP) of Pennsylvania is a coalition of mental health consumers, family members and professionals working to help adults with serious mental illnesses and co-occurring disorders live successfully in the community. The statewide coalition links CSP nationally with regional and local CSP's throughout the State.

Pennsylvania Mental Health Consumers' Association (PMHCA) is a state-wide member organization dedicated to the support of all people who seek aid for recovery from a mental illness at any stage in their journey. PMHCA also provides training to individuals in such areas as Mental Health Advance Directives, Peer Support, LGBTQI+ Issues, and other training.

The Friendship Line is both a crisis intervention center and a line for routine, even daily, phone calls that provide emotional support and well-being check-ins. The line has never gone unanswered since 1973, and is free to people 60 and over, anyone 18 and over who is diagnosed with a disability, and to caregivers of those groups. If you're in need of mental health support, information on resources, or just want to talk, call the Friendship Line anytime, day or night, 7-days a week.

The Walk-in Center is available similar to the crisis line, and provides necessary supports and resources in their safe and confidential location. It is now available at:
​2100 East College Avenue that is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Center for Community Resources also provides mobile crisis intervention services for individuals who may be having a mental health crisis.

This support is available to anyone in Centre County. Please contact the crisis line at 1-800-643-5432 to request this service 24 hours, 7 days a week.
Crisis workers can help you navigate all of the options for treatment and support and assist with referrals.
